Maria Ringer-Abel

Not many of us knew this but at the age of 40, Maria trained for and competed in a Bodybuilding show as a figure competitor!  You go girl!

Maria has been a volunteer with Regional since 2016.   We asked her what made her decide to volunteer? “I was sick of talking about wanting to help and made the decision to reach out to the shelter.”

We asked Maria what her funniest or best memory is from the shelter.  “I have so many great memories, but my all-time favorite was watching my partner scale the fence to get in the shelter because our key was not working. That’s dedication! “

In Maria’s opinion the best part about being a volunteer with Regional is “It goes without saying that dog snuggles and kisses are pretty sweet, but the friendships I have made at this shelter are priceless.”

We asked Maria what she would you tell someone who was thinking about volunteering?  She passionately said “Do it! Any little bit that you can offer helps!”

Thank you, Maria Ringer-Abel for your commitment and dedication to the animals of Regional!
