Congratulations to Jen Lacosse, November’s Volunteer Spotlight!

Jen is married to her Hubby George and they have 4 furkids: Athena, 7yrs old, Boxer mastiff mix, Tango, 5 yrs old, Saluki Canaan mix, Benny, 5 yrs old, Saluki mix and Brinn, 8 yrs old, tortoise shell kitty.  Jen hasbeen a paralegal for 11 years doing primarily personal injury work. She is starting a new paralegal position this month where she will get to work from home and able to spend more time with her family!

Jen has been a Regional volunteer since 2017 but she got my start in rescue by working with an international rescue who brings dogs from war torn countries where our military is stationed, bringing battle buddies back home. She has fostered a few dogs for them and also adopted her Tango and Benny through that rescue. Working with feral street dogs opened her eyes to how much she really didn’t know about dog behavior and helped her pursue my passion further.

We asked Jen what made her decide to volunteer with Regional and she said “I was new to the area and looking for a way to meet new people. I’ve always been interested in working with dogs and when I found out Regional was minutes from my home it seemed like the perfect opportunity to do both.”

Jen said “Regional is different than other shelters. We have moved mountains to do what we do and get where we’ve gotten. Regional doesn’t just care about the dogs and cats, they do so much for the volunteers to help them grow and learn to not only be better volunteers but better pet owners themselves.”  We asked Jen that if someone was thinking of volunteering with Regional, what would you tell them and she said “Do it. There are so many different ways that you can volunteer than just shift work. Every little bit helps an animal that may not have seen another day if they were anywhere else.”

Thank you Jen for your dedication to Regional! We are so happy you joined us!

Join Jen and the Regional family by applying to volunteer today!

You need to meet

Because they’re awesome (we’re only a little biased).

Meet all of our adoptable animals here.
