Congratulations to Miss Bobbi Jo Haverly for being our first Volunteer Spotlight!

Bobbi Jo has been married 20 years to her husband, Mike (aka “Mr. Bobbi Jo” 😉).  She has three awesome children – Jack (17), Emilia (15), and Elliot (12) as well as fur children Ross the dog and two cats- Miss Kitty and Madame Boots.

She operates Miss Bobbi Jo’s Preschool for almost 11 years and recently began working for Mountain Valley Hospice & Palliative Care in October 2020 as the Coordinator of Volunteer Services.

In her free time, Bobbi Jo loves to listen to True Crime Podcasts and watch Historical Documentaries.

Miss Bobbi Jo has been a volunteer for almost 10 years and is the Education Coordinator for Regional.

When asking Miss Bobbi Jo why she became a volunteer she said “I saw a Facebook calling for volunteers. As a young Mom, I wanted to set an example of community care for my children.” And boy has she!

“My favorite memory, to date, has been seeing the adoption of Buster. Buster had been with us for so long and was so ready for a home of his own. We walked to the Palace Diner, and I called in an order of runny eggs to be brought outside. When I told the woman on the phone who it was for, she and other patrons came out to watch him eat and celebrate his adoption. It was beautiful.”

She thinks that the best part of being a volunteer are the photos that come back of dogs who have been adopted. “Seeing them snuggled up with a family member or sleeping peaceful on a cozy bed makes my heart so full!”

Miss Bobbi Jo, what would you tell someone who is thinking about becoming a volunteer at Regional? “Take a chance! Whatever your skill set, or interest is, there is a need for you.”

Join Bobbi Jo and the Regional family by applying to volunteer today!

You need to meet

Because they’re awesome (we’re only a little biased).
