Congratulations to Jackie Fox for being chose as July’s Volunteer Spotlight!

Jackie has been a Regional volunteer for 7 years! We’re sure for Jackie it only seems like yesterday!  When Jackie’s sister passed away, she brought a donation to the shelter in her memory. From that moment Jackie said she was drawn to shelter life, and boy are we thankful!

Jackie is married to Ed Fox, another one of Pilot’s servants. She has four children: Roger, Chris, Ronnie, and Pam.  She has grandchildren and is going to be a great-grandmother!  Jackie and Ed have two furbabies as well: Muffy the dog and Winston the cat.  Jackie was previously retired from Townsend Leather where she had been with them for 31 years and recently decided she wanted to go back! So much for relaxing and enjoying retirement!  Jackie is no stranger to living an exciting life however. Years ago, when she was a bartender at O’Connors she was robbed at gunpoint! We sure are glad you were okay!

Jackie’s funniest memory at Regional so far was when we took in Cinnamon the pot belly pig. Cinnamon didn’t want to get out of the car and walk into the yard on her leash. Cinnamon was squealing and carrying on so loud it sounded like we were hurting her and Jackie was afraid the police would be called because of the loud commotion!  Oh that Cinnamon sure did make us laugh!

“The best part of volunteering at Regional is the close friends I have made. They are some of the most caring people and I am so proud to be a part of this group.” Jackie said that volunteering at Regional will make your heart so full because you know that you are helping those that cannot help themselves, no matter what job you do at the shelter.

Congratulations Jackie Fox for being July’s Volunteer Spotlight and we thank you for your dedication and commitment to Regional and our family!
